The Upper West Akim District Assembly on Thursday 15th January, 2026 received a delegation from the Office of the Head of Local Government Service led by Prof. Lord Mensah. Some dignitaries with him were Mrs. Golder Asante Director of Administration, Mrs. Felicia Dapaah the Chief Director of Local Government Services among other members of the ministry.

The Team was warmly received by the D.C.E Hon. Rebecca Chissah. The D.C.E gave a brief presentation on the achievements of the Assembly for the first year under her leadership since 2025.

Prof. Lord Mensah commended the D.C.E for her success especially in bringing the private sector into partnership to enable the growth of the District. Prof. Lord Mensah in his address admonished the Staff of the Local Government to be disciplined in embracing Professionalism and sticking to Standards of the Local Government Service.

Prof. Lord Mensah cautioned the Staff to put a stop to poor behaviours such as absenteeism, improper channel of reporting to win favours.

In the area of empowering the Local Government Staff he said the Staff will be introduced to E-Learning with their Staff IDs to build their capacity for promotion.

He finally, urged the District Coordinating Director to work in harmony with the D.C.E and admonished heads of departments to ensure discipline to enable productivity and efficiency.

The Director of Administration Mrs. Gold Asante challenged the Staff to learn the Conditions of Service Handbook and thus tasked the HR to educate the Staff.

The District Coordinating Director for the Upper West Akim on behalf of the D.C.E expressed appreciation to God for the travelling mercy and thanked the team led by Prof. Lord Mensah for the working visit. She pledged the Assembly’s commitment to the advice and directives.
