
The District Chief Executive (D.C.E) of the Upper West Akim Constituency in the Eastern Region of Ghana on Wednesday 6th August, 2025 has given brief update on the State of Upper West Akim Constituency.
This briefing was facilitated by Tru 92.5 FM during its morning show dabbed “YEN SEMPA” hosted by Mr. Eric Azaglo a.k.a Obidehyie.
The host who had done much detailed findings from the good people of the Upper West Akim Constituency asked relevant questions to enable its listeners to be well informed by the response of D.C.E.
Hon. Rebecca Chissah responded to challenges confronting the District such Sand winers Conflict with farmer, the alleged monetisation involved in the sales of agric inputs to farmers, alledged Partisan interference in government recruitment, Sanitation challenges of the District and Zoom Lion Staff unpaid allowance, police and commercial drivers challenges, poor state of Upper West Akim District Assembly’s doors and tiles, poor state of the D.C.E’s residence, Assembly’s DRIP Machine and almighty Kotoku Factory saga and state
Hon. Rebecca Chissah indicated that all machines belonging to Assembly will be well taken care of and the unresolved maintenance work on the D.C.E’s residence and the poor state of the Assembly is been taking care of. She advised that in handling government properties and projects it is important to use expect to avoid waste.
She also used the opportunity to appeal to the Chiefs to Collaborate with Assembly Members and Farmers when signing contract with business organisations to avoid or reduce land disputes.
Hon Rebecca Chissah said her vision for growth and development of the District is very huge but currently she is prioritising Health, Agric and Creation of employment opportunities for the people of Upper West Akim Constituency.
The D.C.E said plans are far advanced in making sure together with the MP that the Kotoku Factory will be operationalised to boost job creation.
