The Upper West District Assembly on Thursday 5th February. 2026 Commissioned and handed over the Community Durbar Grounds to the Mepom Area Council.

The Program was graced by Hon. Emmanual Drah MP for the Upper West Akim Constituency, Hon. Rebecca Chissah D.C.E for Upper West Akim, The Traditional Authority from Mepom, Clergy, Education Institutions Development Association Clubs in the Mepom Community, the Ghana Police Service from Asamankese and the past and current executives of the NDC in the Upper Wrst Akim Constituency.

The MP and the D.C.E respectively assured the people of massive development projects to improve the lives of the people. They assured the people roads in bad shapes such as Mepom to Nyanoa and the Maame Dede enclaves are going to be worked on shortly for economic development. He finally assured the people on rural electrification projects and told them the contractor is currently on site and also said meters have been procured for households.

The D.C.E Hon. Rebecca Chissah on behalf of the President and the Assembly donated Mower, Hair Dryers, barbering machines to the people.

The widows and some recognised hardworking individuals were given clothes and undiscosed amount of money to encourage them.

The D.C.E said in her address that good maintenance of the Durbar grounds is her key interest and also the facility must be easily accessible by not burdening the people with huge cost.

The traditional Authority of Mepom appreciated the MP., D.C.E and the Assembly and further admonished all activists causing instability to stop to enable growth and development.
