On 5th July 2023, the district Agric department of the Upper West Akim District Assembly organised a Value addition training programme at Asuotwene.
The programme featured 2 women groups, FBO’s, famers and other community members. At the training the session, the district agric officer entreated the participants to leverage on the value addition programmes by practicing it as an alternative way of generating extra income and also creating jobs.
The training programme included soap making with palm oil, packaging of gari and palm oil. The participants were happy and expressed their gratitude to the district assembly for such educative programme. They also entreated the department to regularly organise more of such training sessions to help train farmers on how to add value to their farm produce to improve the livelihoods of famers in the district.
