Participants from the First and Second Cycle institutions in the Upper West Akim District converged at Presbyterian Senior High School in commemoration of the 63rd Independence day celebration themed “Consolidating Our Gains”

There ceremony was graced by Nineteen (19) Contingents consisting of Six Hundred and Eight (608) students, Two (2) Bands with (44) Forty-Four Members, On Girls’ club with (32) Thirty-Two girls and a voluntary organization.

In his speech, the District Chief Executive, Hon. Eugene Sackey stated that the Assembly has instituted some social interventions to improve educational and health standards in the District. He ended his address by imploring parents to take the education of their wards seriously.

The District Education Director lauded the Government for the tremendous improvement chalked in the Educational sector and further charged parents to provide the basic educational needs of their wards to enable them take their studies seriously.

The colourful ceremony was graced by the District Chief Executive, Hon. Eugene Sackey, The District Co-ordinating Director, Mr. Aaron Nii-Otu Otoo, Chiefs and Queen mothers in the District, and Heads of Departments.
