The Upper West Akim District Assembly on Wednesday 22nd June, 2022 visited some chiefs within the District to wish them God's blessings and peace as they observe the ohum festival. The visit was led by the D.C.E Hon. Eugene Sackey and the MP Hon. Fredrick Adom Obeng . The Hon.D.C.E and MP both thanked the chiefs for their fatherly role they play and the collective ideas they share to the development of the District. The Hon. D.C.E and MP humbly requested the chiefs to remember the District in prayers as they perform the festival's ritual.
The paramount chief of the Upper West Akim District Osaberima Asare Oduro I, in his response to the kind visit appreciated the Assembly for remembering the Traditional Authorities and said the doors of his Palace is always opened for any deliberation that seeks the District's development.
Items presented to the chiefs were; Schnapps, crate of drinks, bottled water and an undislosed envelope with money to assist them serve their visitors during the festival. Source; (Office of the Information Service Department - Upper West Akim District)
