District Health Directorate Programmes

On 3rd February 2023, the District Health Directorate of the Upper West District Assembly undertook a Total Community Treatment (TCT) exercise in communities including Ndoda, Danso, Djaphatra, Adandzie among others. The Treatment was conducted with Azithromycin drug (tablets) and was given to people from age one (1) and above. A team from the district health directorate treated a total of 768 persons in various communities. The Management of Upper West Akim District Assembly led by the District Planning and Coordinating Unit organised a community sensitization programme towards the development of the annual action plan, at Sukrong Bethlehem, Asikasu, Asuotwene, Adeiso, Kwao-Baah and Kumikrom from 23rd to 31stAugust, 2023. District Agric Department Programmes.

The District Agric Department of the Upper West Akim District Assembly held its district Level Research Extension Linkage Committee Planning Session (RELC planning session) at the District Assembly Hall Adeiso on 10th November, 2023. The District Agric Officer, Mr. Alidu S. Ibrahim highlighted on the importance of the RELC planning session to the participants. In his presentation he stressed that the essence of the RELC planning session was to help identify problems/constraints, categorize or prioritize the problems and reflect on interventions needed to address them such as research, training, extension, policy and marketing. Value Addition Training at Asuotwene.

On 5th July 2023, the district Agric department of the Upper West Akim District Assembly organised a Value addition training programme at Asuotwene. The programme featured 2 women groups, FBO’s, famers and other community members. At the training the session, the district agric officer entreated the participants to leverage on the value addition programmes by practicing it as an alternative way of generating extra income and also creating jobs.
