
PLANTING FOR EXPORT & RURAL DEVELOPMENT
The President of the republic of Ghana and his government who took office in 2016 from the Mahamah administration gave number of campaign promises from their manifesto. Among the many promises is "Planting for Export and Rural Development. They promised maximising agro output through support from the government.
30,000 SEEDLINGS
The Upper West Akim District farmers on Tuesday 6th July, 2021 received 20,000.00 PALM seedlings. The District Agric Director Mrs. Esther Commey during an interview by Tru92.5FM at Adeiso the District Capital of Upper West Akim said, 10,000.00 palm seedlings were received few weeks ago. This she said gave a total of 30,000.00 palm seedlings received so far. Mrs. Commey indicated that there is going to additional 20,000.00 to make it 50,000.00. She said government is taking this step to encourage farmers who grow cash crop such as cocoa, mango, cashew and palm.

The farmers interviewed express much appreciation to the Assembly, the Hon. D.C.E Mr. Eugene Sackey, the Hon. MP / Dept. Transport Minister Mr. Fredrick Adom Obeng and government for such a great support from them.
INTERVIEW WITH D.C.E ON SEED DISTRIBUTION
The Hon. D.E.C, during a live interview with Tru92.5FM said the Agric Director Mrs. Esther Commey and her staff are going to make sure the seedlings were distributed to registered farmers so that monitoring work could be done. He use the opportunity to encourage Upper West Akim Farmers to corporate with the Agric Department and get themselves registered so that every farmer benefits from these support any time such support comes. He also spoke on the ongoing 2021 PHC and said the trained officers are on the field within their Enumerated Areas (E.A's) work. He prayed they are able capture all indigenes for development planning..
